Dental Imaging

CitiScan Radiology provides a comprehensive range of dental imaging.

OPG provides a panoramic view of the mouth, teeth and jaw, and is particularly useful in showing the position and growth of teeth.

Lateral Cephlogram is a side-on (lateral) view of the face. It allows for precise measurements to be made and enables the relationship between the top and bottom jaw to be seen.

CT Cone Beam provides high resolution 3D images and allows teeth and facial bones to be viewed in any plane. Cone Beam CT imaging is useful for examining impacted teeth, planning dental implants and assessing pathology and trauma.

CT Dentascan is a 3D scan which uses advanced software to construct unique 3D pictures of your jaw and surrounding tissues. This is useful to assess the position of impacted teeth or plan dental implants.

There is no specific preparation required. Medications can be taken as normal. Prior to being placed in the scanner you will be asked to remove all jewellery and piercings from around the head area, as these can show up on the images.

You will be positioned in the machine and will be asked to remain as still as possible during the scan. Part of the scanner will rotate around you capturing images.

Our dental maxillo-facial Radiologist will review the images and issue a report. Once completed, the report will be sent electronically to your referring health professional.
